Plainfield is the First Private Club in the U.S. to Become a “First Tee” Affiliate

The Plainfield Country Club’s “First Tee” Program enables our Club to give back to our game by providing the venue and support to bring golf and life values to the youth of our community, under the expert leadership of premier golf teacher and professional Bill Castner. The First Tee also allows us to rebrand our West Nine as a true Family Club in line with its original purpose, and to augment our relationship with the PGA TOUR, which is expected to be an enthusiastic and significant contributor to the First Tee Program at Plainfield, which is now the first private club in the country to become a First Tee affiliate.

About First Tee
Through research it was determined that the primary reason more children, and especially economically disadvantaged children, did not play golf was because of the lack of places that welcomed them, places they could physically get to, and places they could afford. The World Golf Foundation created The First Tee in November of 1997 as a way to bring golf to youngsters that otherwise would not be exposed to the game and its positive values. The World Golf Foundation also played an important role in garnering the support of golf’s major organizations to grow and promote The First Tee.
